A day among flamingos and golden sunsets

Albufera Natural Park is one of the great ornithological treasures of the Mediterranean. This private tour with an expert naturalist guide takes you to experience it in depth: its birds, flora, history and extraordinary light as the sun goes down.

The day starts with pick-up in Valencia city and a visit to La Devesa del Saler, the Mediterranean dune forest separating the lake from the sea. Here we identify woodland birds and coastal plants. We then enter the natural park to observe colonies of greater flamingos, glossy ibis, great egrets and grey herons inhabiting the lagoon's shores.

The highlight is the traditional one-hour boat ride during the golden hour. The sun descends over the lake in a spectacle of colour that lingers long in the memory.

As a strictly private tour for up to 3 people, you set the pace. Perfect for families, couples or friends with an interest in nature, photography or simply switching off.

Itinerary (approx. 5 hours)

  1. Pick-up in Valencia city

    I collect you at your agreed meeting point. Private vehicle transfer to the natural park (approx. 20 min).

  2. La Devesa del Saler

    Walk through the dune forest. Mediterranean pines and junipers, woodland birds and coastal flora. Species identification.

  3. Albufera Lagoon — waterbirds

    Observation of flamingos, glossy ibis, grey herons, great egrets, ducks and waders from the best vantage points in the park.

  4. Sunset boat ride (1 hour)

    We navigate the lake in a traditional boat during golden hour. The finest way to witness the Albufera sunset.

  5. Return to Valencia

    Transfer back to the city.
